Art x Technology 1

Now is one of the best times to be in the tech business

The world has seen waves of technology revolutions for the past 200 years or so. Many things that we have already taken for granted, were non existent just a few decades ago, e.g., the Internet actually is less than 40 years old. No doubt, people’s lives are greatly improved by ever-upgrading of applicable technologies in terms of effieciency and reduced burden of physical labor, and mental challenges to some extent as well.

As a veteran in the tech business for the past 2 decades, I keep seeing tech innvation come out of nowhere just due to a simple fact: human beings can always imagine and dream of things. This may have some profound embeded connection to human consciousness or a deeper entanglement to the true reality of this world.

How art is helped by technology

A digitalization of all human art is being done thanks to ever-improving scanning/imaging technologies. These digital copies may some day in the future serve as a template to duplicate or revive ancient art to its original form. These would involve technology development in 3D printing, material sciences and holistic imaging, etc.

And many art works now exist in digital formats for the most part and time, and presented through digital means. Movies, photos, and music all fall into this category. Thanks to the vast advanced technolgy of digital storage/memory, we can literally carry all the human creative works, and everything that has been digitally preserved, in the pocket.
